I am a strong advocate to bring ephedra back to our shelves.
I am 5'2", 37 years old, mother of two. I have a 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter. Happily married and run a prospering business.
When I found ephedra in 2002, it was a miracle for me. I was pushing 200 pounds. Weight problems run in my family. My mother was 300 pounds as were my aunts and grandmother. My daughter now fights the weight issue being 153 pounds at age 13. Its very hard on her however; I would not allow my daughter to use this product.


I have read the articles about the deaths and people getting sick. I am so sorry for the families that have lost loved one, especially the children.
However, what are the children doing with this product? Every purchase I ever made was with the stipulation that I was over 18 years of age. Every package stated - NOT TO BE SOLD TO MINORS. Most of these deaths were due to the product being abused, taking 2 or 3 at a time.
As an adult I should have the choice what I want. It is my responsibility to do the research and make an educated decision if this product is for me.
If your child was taking ephedra, find out who sold it to him/her. That is who should be taking the blame and responsibility. Just like alcohol and cigarettes.

Of all the information I have read so far, there is not one case that stated any one took the recommended dose of any ephedra based product and died. If you have high blood pressure, heart problems etc, this product is not for you. If you take one, as instructed on the package, your body will tell you whether or not this product is for you.
Why take it away from the people that it really helped?

I will be first in line when this product is back on the shelf! How about you?
