We are concerned citizens that believe the lack of choice in elementary education in Rock Island is affecting the growth and prosperity of the Broadway, Greenbush, LongView and Old Chicago Neighborhoods. We believe this negatively affects Rock Island as a whole. We believe lack of choice affects all the citizens of Rock Island whether they do or do not have school age children.
We petition the Rock Island School Board to expand the elementary open choice in Rock Island. We petition the School Board to either expand the current enrollment at Horace Mann or establish a 2nd Open Choice school. We petition the School Board to make these changes within one year. Our goal is to eliminate the waiting list for Open Choice.
