Extend "hands" advertisment series to the 20th Congressional District of New York

A recent poll conducted by Zogby International shows John Sweeney with a 2-1 lead over his presumed Democratic challenger, Kirsten Gillibrand. Sweeney also has begun bombarding the airwaves with several advertisements in the last couple of weeks. The only way the Democratic Party will be able to effectively compete for this seat is to air competing advertisements to combat those which are currently being aired by the Sweeney campaign. We are asking for your organization to consider extending your "hands" advertisement program to the 20th Congressional District of New York.

Despite Sweeney's current lead in the polls over Gillibrand, we feel he is particularly vulnerable to defeat, given that Bush's approval ratings are abysmal here in Upstate New York, along with the fact that Representative Sweeney has voted with the Bush Administration 80\% of the time since 2001, siding with him critical issues, such as social security, drug reimportation from Canada, Medicare, the environment, and women's reproductive rights.

Currently, most people in our district are unaware of how close of a relationship Representative Sweeney maintains with the Bush Administration, and he is trying to falsely sell himself as an "independent" in his latest series of advertisements.
