Festival goes against the mistreatment of patrons at the Reading Festival 2004 by Specialised Security staff

Once again, the innocent festivalgoers of Reading have been victimised by the security services of specialized security. Security Officers are abusing their powers by acting in a yobish and violent manner towards festivalgoers. Several people have reported been punched, pushed and verbally abused by security personnel (including several 'supervisors') although many of the Security Officers are polite, courteous and do not abuse their responsibility. A small group of Officers (the same group every year) have taken it upon themselves to declare marshal law upon the campsite and bully festival goers into stopping their (usually lawful) activities and, usually through fear of violence or having their wristbands removed, return to their campsites having their evening or weekend ruined.

I asked the undersigned to demand that either Mean Fiddler do not renew Specialized Securitys contract as the security force for next years festival. Or Specilized Security spend the next year working closley with its staff and festival organisers to ensure festival go-ers are treated in a respectful and unabusive manour.
