Dear Executive Director Carter Smith and Honorable Commissioners:
Charlie Haggerton representing the voice of the Firearms hunters of Grayson County.
By signing this petition I am asking Texas Parks and Wildlife to make changes in regards to the whitetail deer season regulations for Grayson County. I am for any recommendations or changes in the current regulations that would allow the use of firearms for the harvest of whitetail deer in Grayson County. There is no biological reason to continue with the archery only means for a whitetail management tool. There are deer and habitat in our county. We believe that a firearm season in Grayson County would not have a adverse affect on the present population of deer within the county. That the quality of animals would not be affected in anyway. We ask that you change the current regulations in Grayson County to allow a firearms season.This would allow its residents the opportunity to observe and hunt utilizing the fire arms concept as a management tool, while at the same time not jeopardizing the overall population of deer within the county.
