Franklin Pierce Additional Parking

With the incoming of more freshmen students this year, parking has become worse. Also, because of construction on an addition to the Field House, parking was removed. It seems that instead of alleviating the problems this caused to students, the administration choose to ignore the problem by adding no new parking for the Fall 2004 semester. Students also feel that is unfair to be charged ($100) for dramatically worse parking conditions.
We demand that the College act to remedy these problems. The most obvious solution seems to be that more parking must be constructed. Another suggestion would be to either not allow freshmen to park on campus or allow students to park on grass and in Faculty parking without being charged by The Department of Campus Safety for parking illegally. This way, students will be able to park without having to worry about getting a ticket, especially for commuter and off campus students who are usually late to class because of lack of provided parking.
We hope that the College will realize that student satisfaction is the best way to increase school reputation and maintain student loyalty. Instead of tailoring the FPC parking structure around the comfort of other groups, we demand that the College suits the parking needs of its student body.
