Geographical Knowledge Requirement for Postal Services

Postal companies seem to suffer from an extreme lack of geographical knowledge. All postal and courier companies suffer from this problem. I have had Canada Post send mail to York University in Toronto rather than the University of York in Britain, Purolator send a package bound for Britain to Texas, and TNT try to find my province of Alberta in the suburbs of Ottawa in Ontario. I have been told of UPS looking for the University of Alberta in Manitoba. These deliveries did not require complex knowledge of geography. These differences included confusing entire countries and mistaking a province that is larger than an amalgamation of many European countries with suburbs across the continent that do not even share the same name.

The purpose of this petition is to demand from postal and courier companies a basic working knowledge of geography. They must learn how to distinguish the UK from Canada, the USA, or any other country. They must learn how to read postal (zip) codes correctly. It is absurd that these companies and organizations can provide a service so fundamentally based on geography without having any knowledge of it. This must be rectified.
