Officials from Gettysburg National Military Park proposed a plan to shorten the park's hours of operation to curtail after-dark use of the park grounds. Officials said closing the park from sunset to 6 AM will reduce recreational uses, some illicit, by after-hours visitors. "The predominant after-hours use of this park is for drinking, drugs and ghost-hunting," said Dr. John Latschar, park superintendent, during a meeting of the park's advisory committee.
