Help Change Twin Rivers Medical Center

Hi, My name is Don Turner and I recently had the unbelievable task of watching my father lay in the ER at twin rivers regional medical center in Kennett MO. on Dec 18th. My father arrived due to problems with no energy and had been talking incoherently. My father has a long list of medical ailments ranging from 2 open heart surgeries, He has had an 8lb tumor, spleen and kidney removed because of cancer. My father has also had his leg disfigured in a motorcycle accident. And he is highly diabetic.

My father had sat in the ER for nearly five hours as nothing was getting done for him. Every time we asked about the situation we were told every thing looks fine. I would tell them that the O2 level keeps dropping on the monitor and they told me it was fine. They decided to move him to ICU even though every thing was fine, so they said.

Now in between the time that he was not at our side or in our view in ICU he began to pour blood from his mouth and nose. When they finally told us that they had got him stable they proceeded to tell us he had gone into renal failure and that the lack of oxygen had most likely created brain damage and that they had to put him on a respirator so he could breath.

They began to tell us that we should not try to revive him because with lung cancer patients it is probably best not to revive them because it could crush his ribs and leave him in more pain and suffering. I then became more upset and said I wanted him in Memphis where we new he'd get some help. They did everything they could to keep us from doing it.

The next morning after talking to his doctors in Memphis they air vaced him to Baptist east. Before moving him they removed the breathing tube and reinserted another for the flight. Not once did they take out his dentures and he was choking on his teeth. They made the discovery when they removed the tube in Memphis. They also found that he was suffering from pneumonia. He is still not out of trouble as he is still in ICU and hopefully he will recover. My prayers are in overdrive from my dad and this makes for a sad Christmas.

So I'm asking all of you out there that has a story to tell about the bad treatment and poor experience that you have had at twin rivers regional medical center in Kennett MO. and sign this petition to have Dr. Jamoe-as and Dr. Mona as well as the administrator of the hospital removed from their duties at the hospital.
