This letter is directed to the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame, on behalf of Joe Cocker. For the past 13 years, Joe Cocker has been snubbed by the RRHOF organization, while inducting much less deserving artists. His resume speaks for itself. In 1969, his performace at the Woodstock Festival goes down in rock history as one of the great events in rock history, to the point that his performance Of "With A Little Help From My Friends", defined the festival. In 1970, his Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour became on of the truly great events in rock history, becoming a worldwide hit and movie. He has had hit records for over five decades, and is still making music and touring to critically acclaimed shows to this very day. Songs like "With A Little Help From My Friends", "The Letter", "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window", "Delta Lady", "Cry Me A River", "You Are So Beautiful", "Up Where We Belong", "Unchain My Heart", "You Can Leave Your Hat On", and "When The Night Comes" are just a sampling of hits that Joe has recorded over the years. Joe Cocker is the greatest interpretive rock singer of the classic rock era, and to this day, can out sing vocalists half his age. He is in every way as good if not better then Janis Joplin, who resides in the RRHOF on the resume of a career that lasted just a few years. Joe has been going strong for over 40 years. His voice is like that of no other, and he is truly a rock n roll treasure who has been shamefully ignored by the election board. He has not even gathered a nomination, and yet a glorified garage band like the Ramones are inducted. Does anyone out there really think Deborah Harry is a vocal match for Joe Cocker? My point here is that Joe Cocker deserves to be inducted into the HOF while he is alive so he can enjoy the moment with his family, friends and fans. It was an absolute disgrace, that George Harrison was not elected when he was alive, instead he was inducted with an after death guilty vote! I along with the millions of Joe Cocker fans worldwide, want to see Joe given his rightful parking space in the RRHOF.
