Ivy Tech Financial Aid Reform

To whom it May Concern (Attn: President's office):

The undersigned are all students, former students, faculty, former faculty, family members of students or faculty (former and current), or friends of students or faculty (former and current) of Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.
We the undersigned all agree that Ivy Tech community college needs to take an in-depth study of and make changes to the way that financial aid is handled, and more importantly refunded to students, at ALL Ivy Tech Campuses.
Students that require financial aid to supplement lost income while they are attending school are being forced to wait an UNREASONABLE amount of time before receiving funds that they have properly applied for and have been awarded. There is absolutely NO REASON that funds should be distributed almost a month and half into each semester, as the majority of universities in Indiana release funds before the semester even begins, holding each student personally accountable for ensuring that they continue coursework. It is UNACCEPTABLE to have the Ivy Tech bookstore as the ONLY option for those students that use financial aid to receive textbooksif an item goes on backorder and the student does not have the required texts, he/she misses COURSEWORK and their GRADE suffers due to the inadequacies of the bookstore, not every student has the cash to pay out of pocket for textbooks!

Ivy Tech Community College, your Financial Aid practices are very poor and the students are fed up with how you handle it! Fix the problem!
