"Justice for Those That Cannot Protect Themselves"

This Petition is made for the creation of an ASPCA unit in the Atlanta area in Georgia. The reason for starting such a petition is that there are entirely too many animal abuse and neglect cases in the Atlanta area that must be dealt with including illegal dog fighting, abuse, neglect, abandonment, and other issues that cause serious concern for the health and well-being of the animals as well as the health and well-being of the surrounding neighborhoods/residences.

Many cases that have been reported to various Animal Control offices or Humane Societies go unchecked or ignored and often lead to the death of these beloved animals. Cases include people going door-to-door to crop dogs' ears for a low fee with a pair of scissors...and nothing else; dogs and cats having been hit by cars, and their owners do nothing but let them stay out in their yard; underfed and malnourished dogs and cats tethered to a tree with no shelter, food or water. The list goes on and on.

We petition that either an ASPCA type unit be established in the Atlanta area or that the Georgia Department of Agriculture gets involved in inquiring into, researching, and charging animal owners that violate the law and that the Georgia Department of Agriculture be given the authority to be involved in domestic animal abuse/neglect, etc.

By signing this petition, we have decided to petition the state of Georgia and all its citizens to demand an Animal Protection Program, with such laws and rights as Police officials, to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
