Keep Cockfighting in Louisiana

This petition was put together to show that there are a lot of out of state people that do support cockfighting and often come to Louisiana to watch the fights, which in turn provides a lot of revenue for the state. This sport is a way of life for many people in Louisiana. There are a lot of businesses that would be impacted if this sport were not allowed in the state, everyone one from feed stores, hotels, restaurants, meat markets and many more. A lot of money comes into the sport from out of state, people who do not have the same fine cuisine that people of Louisiana have (cracklins, boudin, crawfish and many other things), It helps out a number of feed mills and gamefowl supply stores. Overall there is everything to gain and nothing to lose except much needed money!!

The bottom line is cockfighting is a very easy target so they are going after it on the way to there real agenda. It is allowed only in two states Louisiana and New Mexico. Cockfighting has been illegal in many states for a long time. Recently they have pursued the issue in the southern part of the United States and been victorious on most occasions. They tried real hard in Louisiana and failed, but they will be back because the spotlight is on them. People it's time to open our eyes. All the hunters, fisherman, cattlemen, horseman, Christians, the average animal lover that thinks they find a good home for all the stray pets and even the concerned parent could not support these groups after visiting these websites. You may not agree with cockfighting, but the cockfighters I know would never stoop to levels this low.
