The Castle (Wellingborough) Ltd, who have run The Castle Theatre and Arts Centre for the past 15 years, has been in negotiations with Wellingborough Borough Council for the contract to run your venue for the next 10 years.
Last week they presented to the council's Resources Committee their business plan, which includes continuing to offer high quality professional productions, hire for our great local societies, and the fantastic participation classes attended weekly by hundreds of young people and adults.
Following the council meeting, the Resources Commitee have recommended that Phoenix Leisure Management Ltd be awarded the contract. Phoenix currently run Kettering Conference Centre and The Lighthouse.
Currently it is unknown how Phoenix intend to run the venue and what changes they would make.
We believe that it's cruicial to continue to offer live theatre and opportunities to participate in our local area and we are concerned that this may now be at risk.
Don't let theatre disappear in Wellingborough. Sign our petition to show the local council how important it is to have a facility in the local area that offers these experiences and opportunities.
