Legalization and Minimum Regulation of Cannibis

We here the undersigned; registered to vote in these United States, and also lawfully present in these United States, do petition the three branches of our democracy to legalize and minimally regulate the use, cultivation, and consumption of the plant known as Cannabis as defined by Wikipedia; "a genus of flowering plants that includes three putative species, Cannabis sativa L., Cannabis indica Lam., and Cannabis ruderalis Janisch." We believe that the illegal status of Cannabis is not within the original intent and does not fall within the beliefs of the original framers of the Constitution of the United States of America. The current U.S. drug policy as of 5.11.2007 harms more people than the existence of the plant itself in normal human interaction.
