LET'S SAVE PARC MONT-LAVAL CAMPGROUND

PETITION OF CITIZENS AGAINST THE MODIFICATION OF THE ZONING RULING NO L-2001-3322 LEADING TO THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE ACTUAL PARC MONT-LAVAL CAMPGROUND

Considering the ecological role that plays the space affected by the zoning ruling to be modified, knowing that this place is a lung for the citizens of the area and that this lung risks to lose all its already mature greenery that will be replaced by cement and additionnal carbon monoxide pollution next to Boise Ste-Dorothee;

Considering that Parc Mont-Laval, by its location, its beauty, its small lake, its stream exist since more than twenty years and is then part of the Laval citizens patrimony, that this park recipient of excellence awards is an asset of the Quebec's camping/caravaning , activity that keeps developing everywhere in Canada;

Considering the irreplaceable touristic and economic contribution of Parc Mont-Laval, prestigious promotion window for Ville de Laval, the park represents an asset for the projects of regional partnership agreements to promote the touristic vocation of the city ;

Considering that Parc Mont-Laval welcomes, at the same time as its foreing visitors, retired or semi-retired persons who realised that "Living in Laval is better!"... even on wheels to then become permanent residents ; we can, reasonably and with data support, value the economic contribution of the residents and travellers to no less than 4.8 million per year for Sainte-Dorothйe and Ville de Laval ;

WE UNDERSIGNED EXHORT THE LAVAL AUTHORITIES, HABILITATED IN THEIR ROLE TO ANSWER TO THE NEEDS OF THE CITIZENS, TO REJECT THE REQUEST OF MODIFICATION TO THE ZONING RULING L-2001-3322 OR TO DELAY ITS ADOPTION TO ALLOW THE REQUESTOR TO RECONSIDER ITS PROJECT TO PRESERVE IN ITS NATURAL ENTIRETY THE PART OF LAND DEVELOPPED AS PARC MONT-LAVAL CAMPGROUND.
