We, the consumers of Apple products believe that the removal of Firewire port from the new aluminum MacBooks, is a mistake. Considering that Apple co-developed the Firewire format and made it the standard port for DV video interface. Which all good camcorders use (above $300), even when some they have also USB port, it is only used for pictures.

With the removal of Firewire port form the most sold apple portable computer you are leaving the home video users out.
There is no other way to expand the computer (no express card), some rather loose ethernet (as in the MacBook Air) since this can come back by USB. You then give iMovie and iDVD an incomplete computer to work on.

There is no logic now that you include a video-card capable of helping iMovie but then remove the most useful port for video,
The options you leave us are: either the underpowered white MacBook or the Expensive (for home) users MacBook Pro (Extra$1,000)
Which is a lot to pay for a port.

We believe that the small cost savings in this port even if not all users use video, is a big NEGATIVE MESSAGE for users who need this port and don't have budget to jump to the PRO side of your market.

We thank you for your time and consideration.
