Miss Lou, The Hon. Louise Bennett Coverley, through her life's work has done so much to enrich humanity; she has given voice to those whose voices could not be heard, and identified the self-worth that was being suppressed by colonial history along with its systems of governance and learning.

Because of Miss Lou a people began to speak and hear themselves with pride.

Miss Lou, has given wings to the likes of Bob Marley and Sean Paul, to Oku Onuru, Mutabaruka and Fae Ellington, Oliver Samuels and Leonie Forbes. She has given voice and pride to every likkle Jamaican Pickney!

Is there another Jamaican who has single-handedly done so much for Ja?

Because of Miss Lou a people began to speak and hear themselves with pride.

Jamaica has seven National Heroes: Paul Bogle, Sir Alexander Bustamante, Marcus Mosiah Garvey, George William Gordon, Norman Washington Manley, Nanny of The Maroons, and Sam Sharp. Miss Lou is to be listed among them.

This is a call for Hon. Louise Bennett Coverley to be made National Hero of Jamaica.
