NC A&T SU Homecoming Tailgating Changes

This week marks the start of North Carolina A&T State University's Homecoming. Commonly known as GHOE, the Greatest Homecoming On Earth. Many Aggies are waiting with bated to simply step foot on the schools prestigious campus, bite into a hot fish sandwich, hear the sounds of the band and most importantly reconnect with Aggies.
The GHOE is not complete without the Aggie tailgating experience. For years tailgaters have battled it out with competitive recipes, tent decorations and fun. The entire perimeter of the university stadium has been the home of more than 1,000 tailgaters. In years past, all Aggie supporters were welcomed to enjoy the tailgate experience for FREE. Not this year!
2011 has proven to be a tough financial year for both NC A&T SU as well as Aggies individually. In an effort to increase profit and ultimately rebuild the university football team. NC A&T SU will now charge a $35.00 admission fee for the Aggie Game Zone tailgate experience.
This is BOGUS!!
To enter the tailgate areas surrounding the stadium, referred to as the Aggie Game Zone you must pay $35.00 or you will be turned away by ARMED security.

The Problem:
There are no objections to paying admission to the Aggie Game Zone tailgate area, but $35.00 is expensive and forces you to attend the game. We need options! Everyone is not a football fan.
The Solution:
Create a tailgate only ticket at a reduced rate of $10.00. Sign the petition to urge campus to create a ticket for admission exclusive to the tailgate area for a reduced price of $10.00. Aggies need options. The school can still earn profit and the tailgate tradition can still thrive. Those that want to attend the game can buy the existing ticket for the game and tailgating.
Let your voice be heard! If you are silent..It will cost you!
Not having the option to buy separate tickets is expensive:
A family of Four: $35.00 ticket price x 4 Family Members=$140.00 (Plus food/drinks etc.)
High School-Future Aggie Tour Group:
25 Students: $35.00 ticket price x 25 Potential Aggies=$875.00

I am a part of a crew of 23 Aggies who have been tailgating for over 18 years. We feed more than 75 people each year at our tailgate. We live for the GHOE weekend. We are scared to see the turnout for this year because people cannot afford the expensive admission fee. We may have wasted food and money for the sake of not having our normal guest in attendance. Aggie Graduate c/o 1967
We get here early, we stay here late, we bring the food, we bring the TV, we bring the music, and it is something my familys done for a long period of time, and something Im passing down to my son now. This new change is not welcomed amongst the tailgating community. Give the people an option says extreme-tailgater, Aggie Graduate c/o 1994
Above all else though, NC A&T SU fans pride themselves on their southern hospitality, frying fish, line dancing and camaraderie. It is one big happy annual party. We even invite visitors from opposing teams in for food, drinks and good conversation. Its the definition of Aggie Pride! Offer a reduced rate. Aggie Graduate c/o 2001

42\% of our Tailgaters spend over $500 a season on food and supplies, 31\% spend between $200-$500.
