Neshama Company Against the Corona

We, The Undersigned, representing the Cast and Crew of The Neshama Company (2006-2007 season), make a formal request to Mrs. Leiberman to cancel The Corona Theatre as the venue for the play, as well as to cancel January 31st, 2007 as the date for the play.
The Director (Jonathan Niederhoffer) and Stage Manager (Elliot Silber), were notified on November 10th as to when and where the play will be held. Neither the director nor the stage manager had any input as to the venue and date, and were simply notified of those facts 6 weeks into rehearsals.
Rehearsal schedule for November and December were already posted, additions cannot be added. Actors are under enough pressure from school, home, other extra-curricular activities, as well as all the responsabilities of being an actor in a very demanding environment. To base rehearsal schedules on a tentative March show, only to recieve notice that the play will be held in 85 days (November 10th to January 31st), is very unjust. The 85 day period includes winter vacation, mid-term exams, as well as days that cannot be used for rehearsal (any Friday or Saturday). This gives us essentially 25 days for rehearsal, not nearly enough time to finish running through the play, blocking scenes, learning musical numbers, and learn choreography.
Jonathan, the director, and Elliot, the stage manager, simply refuse to put on a show on a date that is simply too short notice, and in the venue that was discussed in Development Team meetings, and was essentially turned down by the Team. Mrs. Leiberman went ahead and booked the theatre without notifying, or with the consent of, the director and stage manager, the two people who are in charge of organizing and producing the play. Jonathan and Elliot will not work, or have any involvment in The Neshama Company when the administration of the school does things that affect the entire Company, without their approval!
We, the Cast and Crew, appeal to you, Mrs. Leiberman, to cancel the January 31st booking at the Corona. We simply can't, and won't, handle the stress of a January perfomance.
