In January of this year Dominion Stores pulled out of Marystown, since then we have been left with 1 major grocery chain on the Burin Peninsula. We have heard rumours about other grocery stores coming in but thus far nothing.
A monopoly is never good in anything especially groceries. It's something we all need and the remaining grocery store here realizes that.
We ask different grocery store chains to consider our area for setting up business.
