Automotive law enforcers agree that one of the prime factors in fatal car crashes is excessive speed. Yet every vehicle is capable of going well over 65 mph. Why do we need to be capable of driving at not only unsafe but also in the great majority of states illegal speeds? Therefore, I propose that all new vehicles sold in this country have a governor placed on them that tops the speedometer out at 65: criminal penalties should apply to anyone who removes the governor
