This petition concerns the MAG community at large, MAG being a first person shooter (FPS) for the Playstation 3 gaming console.

http://forums.mag.com/t5/MAG-Discussion/The-quot-Have-You-Seen-Me-Played-With-Me-Before-quot-Topic/td-p/409965

The thread linked above is the "Have You Seen Me/Played With Me Before" thread on the official MAG forums, started on March 27th, 2010 by "Alyoyo". This was a thread that promoted respect, teamwork, inter-factional/clan rivalries, and camaraderie within the aforementioned MAG community. With a video game such as this with the content it was, there is an automatic built-in competition between members/clans/factions, but it was the one place where respect and goodwill was shown between its members.

On June 3rd, 2010, the thread in question was locked by the forum administrator, RazorBlade07 with the response:

"Threads of this nature tend to turn into popularity contents and lead to flaming and are generally not permitted here. Additionally, please keep personal conversations to the forums messenger. Thanks."

If this was such a problem, shouldn't it have been locked/deleted well before the 2 1/2 months and the 2000+ posts it had accrued?

Immediately after, the moderation/administrative team of the forums were receiving private messages from members of the MAG community as well as posts in the General Discussion forum directly related to the closing of the thread in question.

In direct conversations with RazorBlade07, he has been unwilling to listen to the community he serves and aside from, copies and pastes sentences from his rules to state his claims instead of giving an honest answer about this situation.

For a moderation team to want to promote constructive posting, they continually allow threads that are obvious flame wars every day, while locking positive, constructive threads.

Basically, the aim of this petition is the following:

1. The reinstatement of the above linked thread to the MAG community.

2. Changes to the moderation policies put forth by Lithium Technologies and any associated parties including but not limited to Sony and Zipper Interactive to put forth consistent practices in moderation/administration.

If you agree with the above, please sign the petition and please add any comments you feel that is pertinent to the cause.

ALSO, ANYBODY YOU SEE ON THE FORUMS, PASS THIS ALONG! WORD OF MOUTH IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Thank you!

33. Osman Reilly | Despite being accostumed to their very odd and trigger happy moderating so far, I'm still perplexed why they felt the need to shut down a simple community thread that is GOOD for the game and bringing its community together, with such nonsensical reason.
