Opposition To HB 1

As a motorcyclist and a registered voter I urge you to oppose budget cuts to the Motorcycle Safety, Awareness, and Operator Training Program outlined in HB 1 (APPROPRIATIONS:Provides for the ordinary operating expenses of state government). While there are many places where an individual can learn the safe operation of an automobile the Louisiana Motorcycle Safety, Awareness, and Operator Training Program is one of the very few places where an individual can learn the safe operation of a motorcycle. If this measure passes with the budget cuts as outlined it will mean the end of the training course thus creating an unsafe atmosphere for Louisiana motorcyclists leading to an unprecedented increase in motorcycle accidents, injuries, and deaths. Please keep our new motorcyclists safe by opposing these cuts and continuing the quality safety training they need.
