PCD Lounge: Members versus Doppelganger

We, the undersigned, disagree with the lenient attitude adopted by the staff of Doppleganger who moderate The PCD Lounge concerning the imitation of The Pussycat Dolls. We think it is insufficient that their first names are blocked, but the first_last convention is still accessible.

What is upsetting is the lack of action being taken by the staff of Doppleganger. In recent weeks, members who had previously been banned for misdemeanors returned with The Dolls' names as their usernames, and fooled a few members into believing they were really members of the recording group The Pussycat Dolls. Not only did this disappoint members when they found out in actual fact they were not speaking to the people they wanted to, these 'dolls' ABUSED certain members. This is unacceptable, it is damaging to The Pussycat Dolls' image, and it is unfair to those on the receiving end.

Some of these 'Dolls' were not abusive, and did not claim to be The Pussycat Dolls, however they wore clothes identical to The Pussycat Dolls, they had their hair and facial expressions matching, and they did not deny any affiliation to The Pussycat Dolls when asked. This, too, is unacceptable and misleading.

Staff have given this behavior the green light claiming it is for a dance contest taking place the weekend beginning October 27th evening. However, why have these accounts been used prior to the event? They cite 'rehearsals' as the reason, but why is it necessary to rehearse as the 'Dolls' when the same dance moves are available to all? And if this is the case, why have these accounts been used for socialising?

Finally, we think that in the best interest of their users' safety, staff need to take their own Terms of Usage more seriously and ban upon violation. Some members have violated over 50\% of these, and are still permitted to use The Lounge. This is a dangerous thing. The Terms of Usage are there for the purpose of outlining acceptable behavior in the lounge with the threat of a ban if broken, yet staff do not act upon this, instead choosing to turn a blind eye to the abuse other users suffer on a regular basis. Allowing back members who have been banned before should NOT be permitted either, or how is it different from a warning? These members are a threat, and we should not have to be in a community with them.

In conclusion, we demand:

a) a block on all usernames including the following names: melody, thornton, carmit, bachar, ashley, roberts, jessica, sutta, nicole, scherzinger, kimberly, wyatt, mel, mella, carm, carmitie, ash, jess, jessie, nic, nikki, nicoleon, elikolani, prescovia, kim, kimba

b) a ban on users who used the above names including first and first_last

c) a ban on users who violate the terms of usage

d) removal of the option to return extended to members previously banned

e) members' security the highest priority of staff and moderators.

f) staff be impartial to members in the lounge and not take sides.

As we feel that no action is seriously being done by the staff of Doppleganger, we have no choice but to boycott attending The Lounge until this matter is addressed properly by the staff and action is taken to benefit the majority and not protect a minority that is causing this problem in the first place.
