We, the undersigned, would like to petition for the freedom to pray in school, at work, in public facilities, and anywhere we feel the need to pray. This is not only a right that our forefathers exercised when developing this country we love so dearly; but also one they practiced. We, as Americans, clearly state on our currency In God We Trust. Should we not also be allowed the privilege to pray to the same God in whom we trust?
We allowed this honor to be taken from us years ago. It is time we take action to regain this freedom.
This is not a freedom that will impose upon the freedom of religion; rather it is a partner act in the freedom of religion. The fact that we pray to God does not limit the freedom of any other religion and it does not force any unwilling person to follow in our footsteps. It is simply communication with God whom we serve.
Prayer does not infringe upon the rights of anyone. It is not biased. It does not inflict pain, hurt, or sorrow on anyone. It is not a forceful act. Prayer does ease the soul and comfort the heart. Prayer relieves the troubled mind and provides a peaceful spirit. Prayer gives hope.
