Petition to Save the UWM UPASS

To whom this may concern,


We, the undersigned, sincerely ask for the UWM UPASS to be re-instated. While we understand that budgets force programs to be cut, we ask you to re-consider getting rid of this very important program. Many of us are commuters, who rely on the UPASS to get to and from classes. Others among us use the UPASS to go to work or the grocery store. If the UPASS cannot continue to be assessed as part of our student fees, we as that an equivalent pass be made available for purchase by those students who wish to do so. The lack of an alternative, for many of us, means spending a great deal more on transportation. The city bus would now cost us four dollars every day. For those of us commuting from Kenosha, Racine, or Waukesha we would now have to spend six dollars and fifty cents every day on Wisconsin Coach Lines. It will not take long for this to impact us financially. So it both with respect and understanding that we ask you to do everything in your power to make the UPASS available once again. Thank you very much for your time and understanding.
