Providence High School Homosexuality Issue

This petition, which hopefully you will see in your good nature to sign, is addressing an event that occurred some months ago. I was kicked out of a school that resides in San Antonio that is now known practically everywhere, or so it seems. That school was Providence High School. To keep the story short, I am an openly committed Lesbian. Typically the school has had no problem with this sort of thing in the past, after all, it is an entirely female populated center for learning. Well a teacher there had a problem. A very big problem. It seems as though this teacher has something against those who practice the art of Lesbianism. Shes homophobic, if you will. She sought to have me kicked out from Providence and would not stop until it was done as she wanted it, simply because I am a Lesbian. I along with many of my friends do not believe that what the school did, especially the teacher involved in aggravating the situation, was right. The school will not listen to anything I have to say to them, and I have a lot to say. I believe that I should be allowed to attend Providence, and not have my sexual preference held accountable for a teachers or a schools prejudice and exclusion of me from its curriculum. I want to attend Providence. I feel I belong there, with my friends. With the people I have come to know and love like family. I've always wanted to attend Providence, ever since I was in elementry. From the first day of school at Providence, I had my whole life planned out. They have a great curriculum, and many great programs and oppurtunities avaliable. I was in Army ROTC, and HYLO. I had chose all my courses for all four years after research, was in a class that helps with the college entrance process, and knew exactly what I wanted out of life, and the steps needed to get there. Now, I don't know what I'm going to do. I don't feel there is another school quite like Providence that can prepare me for where I want to go, and give me that little push needed. If you should be reading this right now and feel moved enough in your heart to sign this petition I would really appreciate your signature. It would mean so much to me, everyone I know and also those I havent had the pleasure to meet that want to see me reinstated as a student at Providence. If anything Like this has happened to you or someone you know, I hope that you wont sit by idly and allow this to continue without a fight. Even if this is the only time you have ever heard of this happening, it still happens in many other places too. Many times it goes unnoticed because someone is not willing to speak out. Well I am speaking out to everyone here. Help me right a wrong that was handed to me by the education system. Help me make it possible to reach out to as many as I can. Tell your friends, your family, strangers on the street, anyone you know. Help me to get back into the school that, although has treated me like this, I still love. Its the least I can ask from you, but me asking is not where it has to stop. You can help me more than you might believe possible by signing. Thats where it starts. Thank you.
