In 2009 access to Herrling Island was blocked by Krugar Paper Products. There was no discussion with the users of the area or notice of closing the island.
Herrling Island offered a large area to ride in the early spring when the snow blocks most other areas. The area was also used for training of our beginner riders on how to properly ride safley off-road.
The Fraser Valley Dirt Riders Association would like to send this petition to Krugar Paper Products and Barry Penner (MLA) with an offer of our stewardship of the area and responsible use of the valuable area on Herrling Island.
