We the undersigned kindly request that Radiohead record and release the original version of the song "Videotape" that was played live on tour in 2006. Recently Radiohead has released their new album, IN RAINBOWS, on their website, with the closing track being "Videotape." This was already a fan favorite for over a year, as many live recordings of this terrific song were circulating prior to its release. Even with the low quality of many of these recordings, it was clear to many devoted Radiohead fans that this song had promise in its original incarnation to become one of their best and most memorable songs ever, and would serve as a fitting emotional and thematic close to their new record. Upon the release of the album, however, many fans were disappointed to hear a completely re-worked arrangement, that not only took the song in a different direction, but seemed to have its best elements blatantly changed or removed. Many fans of Radiohead as a result feel that Radiohead had done a disservice to the quality and artistic merit of their own music in changing the song so drastically, changes that may have indeed been arbitrary due to the band falsely believing the song to be contrived and too closely resembling their previous work. We request, in the interest of both the band art and their fans, that the band please reconsider the arrangement, and release either a re-recorded version or another take of the same song that stays closer to the original arrangement, for release on either the upcoming DISCBOX or the retail release of IN RAINBOWS.
