Reddit Verified 21+ Subreddit Option Request

Reddit is a wonderful eclectic community of mostly thoughtful active participants. Recently however the tone of reddit has shifted in a more juvenile direction that reminds us of the other sites that we fled from in the past.

Like typical adults, we enjoy hanging out with kids sometimes, even most of the time. Also like typical adults, however, we need to have time to spend with other adults, to discuss topics difficult for kids to relate to at best, and inappropriate for them to listen to at worst.

Therefore, we formally request reddit look into an age-verification option for our accounts. This problem was solved in the world of eporn way over a decade ago, so there shouldn't be much difficulty in finding a variety of possible implementations. From there, subreddits should flaggable by the creator as "21+ only" or else perhaps a separate ".21" or ".adults" sub-subreddit should exist by default for *all* subreddits.

Even without presenting a preferred solution in this petition, we feel that reddit could sufficiently discuss and select the best, most popular method to proceed with. We ask for you to study the issue, and present reddit with a series of discussions through which we can find a 21+ age verification method that would best suit our eclectic needs.
