Taxation is theft. War is murder. Conscription is slavery. There is no getting around these fundamental truths. Politicians exist in a position of power, exploitation, and of wielding their coercive powers at the expense of everyone else. They rail against a handful of deaths in private industry, but have no one but themselves to look to when the death of untold millions are on their hands.
