As a resident of south Riverdale, I am signing this petition because I believe that something must be done to address the serious threat to the safety of the children in our community created by unsafe traffic conditions.
The threats:
- The 1000 cars a day which speed down Langley Avenue between Carlaw and Logan that fail to be slowed by inadequate speed bumps
- A perilous crosswalk spanning Carlaw Avenue at the end of Langley, which hundreds of children must cross each day on their way to and from Pape Avenue Jr School
On November 23, transportation Services has a meeting scheduled with Councillor Fletcher to discuss the various alternative measures that could be taken to reduce traffic infiltration on to Langley Avenue from Carlaw Avenue .
