Recently Governor Patterson has announced that he will be closing many historic sites in New York to help address the budget deficit.
Letting go of our history will cost us in the long run, not only because these sites do generate revenue but forgetting our past will only ensure that we will repeat it.
So, to the Governor and any one else in NY Government we ask that you do not go through with the plan to close the historic sites in question and keep them open so generations to come can one day visit them and learn from them.
