Artists, musicians, dancers, poets, curators, former artists-in-residence,
volunteers and frequent visitors to Snug Harbor Cultural Center (SHCC)
ARE ALARMED BY THE NEGATIVE DEVELOPMENTS LISTED BELOW
which are direct results of the current administrations arbitrary, unilateral decisions
in the service of a grandiose and misguided vision
and in direct contradiction to Snug Harbor Cultural Centers Mission Statement:
to create a spirit of community and to support the arts

JUST THREE SHORT YEARS AGO SHCC HAD A WORLD CLASS EXHIBITION SCHEDULE, THRIVING ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE AND STUDIO PROGRAMS, INCREASING RESPECT AS A VENUE, AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN ALL ITS RESOURCES. THE STATEN ISLAND ARTIST COMMUNITY DEMANDS A RETURN TO A SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY.
