We, the undersigned, hereby petition and request that Discovery Channel, and Beyond Productions, retain Peter Rees, creator of "Mythbusters", as executive producer of the show. Mr. Rees is the driving force behind "Mythbusters'" success. He is the one who conceived and created the show, sought out the talent (ie: Adam Savage, Jamie Hyneman, et. al), and arranged for it's development. Without him at the helm, "Mythbusters" will not be as interesting as it has been for the last four seasons.
If Peter Rees is not allowed to remain in charge of the show, we will certainly see viewership of "Mythbusters" suffer, the number of fans will decline, ratings will plummet, and loss of advertising revenue will certainly follow.
We therefore respectfully request that Discovery renew Mr. Rees' contract, and futher request that he be reinstated forthwith.
