Save The Victims Of Saudi Prisons

A Campaign created to abolish the state immunity act which is an Act to make new provision with respect to proceedings in the United Kingdom by or against other States; to provide for the effect of judgments given against the United Kingdom in the courts of States parties to the European Convention on State Immunity; to make new provision with respect to the immunities and privileges of heads of State; and for connected purposes. We are doing this because of torture going on in Saudi Arabia; A man named William Sampson, a Canadian citizen, was working as a consultant in the Saudi Arabian pharmaceutical industry. Within weeks of the bombings, he was imprisoned along with seven others and placed in solitary confinement. Sampson remained in jail for over two and a half years, where he says he was tortured, beaten, and sexually assaulted. Medical tests subsequently backed up his claims. He aimed to sue the state, Saudi Arabia but due to the 'State Immunity Act' he could not. So, we are aiming to abolish the Act so less of these crimes against humanity occur for future generations.

He was held in the Saudi Arabian Prison, Al Ha'ir prison for over two years. He was taken at gunpoint by Saudi officers and was tortured because they believed that he was a British spy. Additionally, he was never given a trial and was just tortured by the Saudi's. They had tortured him for around 6 days and even though he was innocent, he had confessed that him and his colleagues had caused bombing, just to stop the pain.

If this campaign is successful then the act will be terminated.
