We, the undersigned, all aggrieved Cubs fans and their supporters, do hereby inform Dennis J. FitzSimons, CEO of the Tribune Company, and Andy MacPhail, President of the Chicago Cubs baseball club, that we are instituting a complete and total boycott of all Tribune Company products and services (as well as boycotting all advertisers in Tribune-owned newspapers, boycotting all advertisers on Tribune-owned television and radio stations, boycotting all advertisers on Chicago Cub radio and TV broadcasts-regardless of whether the Tribune Company owns the media outlet broadcasting said games, and boycotting all Cubs merchandise-whether sold at Wrigley Field or not). Obviously, this boycott includes not attending any Cub games at Wrigley Field or any other venue.
We will be quite happy to lift this boycott when-and only when-the following conditions are met:
1. Immediate dismissal of Andy MacPhail, Jim Hendry, Dusty Baker, Larry Rothschild, and Gene Clines because of their incompetence.
2. The Chicago Cubs are sold to a buyer who agrees to the following:
A. To keep the Cubs in Wrigley Field in perpetuity.
B. Place winning the World Series as soon as possible as the absolute, top priority-regardless of how much it costs. Buyer agrees to do WHATEVER IT TAKES for as long as it takes until the Cubs win the World Series.
C. Hire Steve Stone as General Manager of the Cubs and give him full control of all player and managerial and player transactions and an UNLIMITED BUDGET toward achieving a World Series Championship.
