SFPD Shooting Range Hours Regulation

This petition is originated by concerned tenants of Lakewood Apartments at Lake Merced residing in buildings 515-715 John Muir Drive in San Francisco, CA. We, the undersigned, hereby petition for a regulation of hours of operation of the SFPD outdoor shooting range located directly across from building 715 John Muir Dr. At the present, it appears that there are no such regulated hours, as firing shots, both single and rapid fire, are heard coming from the shooting range as early as 8am and as late as 10 pm on various days throughout the week - both week days and weekends. These shots are heard in our apartments even when all the windows are shut and have become a major nuisance. We would like to enforce our rights as tenants to quiet time and be made fully aware as to the operating hours of the shooting range as the sounds of shots fired coming from it has grown to become a direct and bothersome distraction during our and our families' time of rest and relaxation. As you may know now, medical reports have been already made about the harm to physical and mental health as a result of noise pollution.
