Stop Clear Cutting in Arenac County

This petition will be sent to Governor Jennifer Granholm, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and to any other officials who may have influence on this issue.

This petition has been created to try and prevent the clear cutting of state forests in Moffatt Township, Arenac County, Michigan. Many of the wild life that once resided in these beautiful lush forests have been displaced due to the cutting of these forests. Not only did the wild life depend on these forests for shelter but for food as well. Many of these animals will die a cruel death this winter from starvation. They are using their precious stored energies looking for refuge in our neighboring subdivision. Many of these animals should be in hybernation and have been disoriented out of their natural cycles due to the clear cutting of these forests. This is animal cruelty in the worst sense. Please find it in your heart to take a moment to sign this petition for a cause that will not only benefit the enviroment and the wild life, but also mankind. The following are some of the wild life that have been seen by residence in this subdivision since the clear cutting had begun: cougar, bear, white tail deer, porcupines, red tail hawks, eagles, wolverine (have been on the extinction list in Michigan for quite some time), rare species of deer, turkeys, turkey vultures, large flocks of crows and many, many others.
