We are asking all those in executive power in these two groups to please help us save the lady gouldian the sully reputation of being labelled "soft" and "stupid" and watch it's vitality and purpose decline.
This petition is to have these groups actually look into "factory farming" of these wonderful finches and to finally do something about this unlawful cruel practice. These factories are weakening the domestic strains. Reducing their immunities and ability to survive naturally without medications and heavy forced feedings.
There is a saturation of these gouldians on the open market and it is becoming epidemic.
We are hoping to end this abuse of a finch we all respect and love, and return it to it's previous glory with your kind help.
Only when the avian governing organizations actually start doing something about this and banning these individuals from selling at it's bird fairs/shows etc.. and speak out vehemently about this will there be any hope for the domestic gouldian finch.
We are asking that you please do something to curb this embarrassment to the gouldian community, and stop this wonderful species from spiralling into obscurity because of it's "weakened" reputation.
I am begging you and your directors that if you wish to do something to aide and keep this bird from disappearing in aviculture because of lack of immunities, and poor breeding skills that you please do something to end this blight on the gouldian community and it's enthuthiasts.
