Stop Sign for Emily
Sign Now
March 8, 2010 was the day the world lost a precious child, Emily Ann Dukovac, age 16. Emily, a junior at Plainfield Central High School, and two friends were heading East on New Lenox Road when they were struck by a truck, that was doing well over the speed limit, traveling North on Cherry Hill Road. The intersection has already seen multiple deaths and they have yet to put up a stop sign on Cherry Hill Road. The stop sign on New Lenox Road is surrounded by both trees and even a billboard, making the cross traffic nearly impossible to see. There is not even a cross traffic does not stop sign at the intersection which makes this road very dangerous.
Placing a stop sign on Cherry Hill Road would have saved many, many valuable lives. If nothing else good can come out of loosing a loved one, perhaps the loss of Emily will be enough to save others from falling victim to the same fate. No one should have to go through the experience of losing a loved one this tragically. Please take one second to sign this petition and help save a life.
