We the undersigned believe that Backwell School is curently a successful community based comprehensive school, with widespread support from parents.
That conversion to academy status could fundimentally change this.
We feel that there has been only minimal consultation with parents and teachers and not enough information for parents to make an informed judgement.
We call on Julian Baldwin and the Governors to engage in an open debate so that parents, including those from Backwell's feeder primary schools can have an opportunity to hear all opinions before a final judgement is made.
