The People Against La Favorita 'Morningside'

I, the undersigned, to hereby formally object to 'La Favorita, Morningside' for the following reasons:

1.     As a conservation area, we are concerned at the over intensification of uses in the Morningside Road area. There are two other established businesses, offering Pizza delivery services within 50 yards of 350 Morningside Road.  There are also several other businesses in the area offering takeaway and delivery services.

2.     The applicant has already completed the works detailed in the planning application (which is not retrospective) and begun trading without receiving the proper consents and allowing for any objections to be raised.

3.      The applicant provides a delivery service using a fleet of cars which commonly monopolize the public car parking facilities on the main road and routinely double park and park on double yellow lines causing traffic congestion and potential road hazards.  This is a drain on public amenities in the area.

4.     As a conservation area, the bright yellow signage is too bright and not in keeping with the overall tone of the shop fronts in the area.

5.     The volume of food that is able to be produced and delivered by a takeaway outlet are substantially more than a restaurant and the intensification of production results in a drain on the local amenities (parking and waste disposal) to the detriment of other businesses and residents alike.

6.     The trade waste area that has been installed by the applicant in the shared back green of 354 Morningside Road is an environmental health hazard and affects the quality of life in the area.

7.     Since the applicant has begun trading and installed a trade waste disposal area in the shared back green at 354 Morningside Road, there has been an issue with pests resulting in pest control being called out to properties at this address. 

8.     The accumulation of food waste in the shared back green of 354 Morningside Road produces offensive smells that will only become worse during summer months when the temperature rises, affecting quality of life in the area.
