In the wake of the new Rbk Edge jerseys of the NHL, the use of third jerseys was suspended, and many of the teams' uniforms were redesigned. The Vancouver Canucks also made changes to their jerseys. Though Canuck fans from across the country have made their love of the 'Flying Skate' jerseys of the 1990's public, the Vancouver Canucks organization did not reintroduce these jerseys for the 2007-2008 season.
Recently, it has been discovered by the public that the Orca Bay Sports & Entertainment company still has ownership of the 'Skate logo' design, despite popular belief that these rights had been lost.

As well, the official Vancouver Canucks merchandising sector, Canucks Team Store, has begun to sell replica jerseys designed in this fashion, due to popular demand. More so than anything, the memorable 1994 Stanley Cup run has left fans with the desire to see the skate design's revival, and the belief is that third jerseys will return to the NHL some time in the 2008-2009 NHL season or the 2009-2010 NHL season.
The fans' cries for the reinstatement of the 'Flying Skate' must be heard, and we are urging that the skate design become the basis for the Vancouver Canucks' Rbk Edge third jersey. It's time for the Flying Skate's return.
