This petition is part of a protest against these companies to tell them that enough is enough! Your support by signing this petition is a start, but we can truly make a bigger impact and incite change by choosing not to shop at these stores during the Christmas season. Word of mouth and our actions will speak loudest. This action needs support from different groups. Those who are of a Christian faith need to spread this through their churches, friends and families. Those who are of different faiths need to support this if religious freedom is to be maintained. Nobody wants to face the day when they are told that their traditions and beliefs cannot be displayed. Plus I honestly believe that the movement to remove Christmas from the season is not part of a mandate from other religions or groups. Lastly and just as importantly, are those of no particular faith who have grown up in Canada with Christmas trees, Christmas Carols, and Christmas gifts as a long held and special part of their heritage and memories. If you dont want to face the day where you are putting decorations on your holiday tree and giving seasons gifts then please join this fight, this is not about religion for everyone, its also about your way of life.
As Canadians we have a tendency to be easy going and not rally behind the things that we feel are important but if we dont choose to make a stand for the things we believe in, then we will slowly, but surely loose them. This is too important to sit back and do nothing. Its my heritage, its your heritage, its Canadian heritage. Christmas is about the birth of Christ to some, its about the Christmas spirit of charity, family, love and giving to others. Either way can you think of something more worthy of defending? Thanks for your support- We can make the difference.
