U.S Congress Term limits

We the undersigned of this petition, request that congress implement term limits of no more than 4 two year terms for the United States House of Representatives, and three six year terms for the United States Senate.

We the signers of this petition consider ourselves unrepresented by congress. It is our contention that the career politician does not have the best interest of our nation as a whole, nor our future at hand.

The concern of the career politician is getting reelected. The best path for reelection is through the political action committees (PACS) whose influence inebriates the better judgment of our elected officials.

In an effort to mitigate the influence of PACS, we consider term limits to be the most viable solution.

The arguments that term limits hinders our governmental processes, at the surface has merit, but the reality is our governmental processes are already hindered by the multitude of PACS that government currently caters to. If you investigate the effectiveness of congress today you will find an ineffective body of government, without respect, divided and unimaginative.

We believe that term limits will keep congress closer to their constituents, prevent congressional stagnation, and inject new blood and new ideas into this governmental body.

That is why we urge you to implement term limits.
