Upholding the Standards of the PSHS System

To the Philippine Science High School Board of Trustees,
We, members of the Philippine Science High School community, would like to express our disappointment with regards to the decision and permission of certain fourth year high school students to graduate.
Some of these students (some of which also have discipline cases) have clearly made a violation to the commonly called "1/3 rule", wherein the student will be dismissed or not allowed to graduate if s/he gets a failing mark (2.75 AND BELOW) in more than 1/3 of the units for the said year level.
Allowing the violators of this rule to graduate is an obvious violation on the part of those who have allowed them to. This decision is understood to have been made under the circumstances of pity and compassion, which the undersigned respect.
However, this decision has also involved lowering the standards of the Philippine Science High School System.
We sign this petition to fight for the honor and prestige of being a Philippine Science High School graduate.
