Use Income Tax for the good

Innocent-Answer : So that the government can use it for the benefit of all.
In reality : as we all know, government funds are being siphoned
off shamelessly by our politicians and beaurocrats.
Corruption is rampant at all levels, be it roads in pune,
or packages for farmers, or projects at the national level.
Today, we pay around 1/3rd of our income as tax to the government.
Most of us feel frustrated because we know that
a lot of it is going waste.
There is much work that needs to be done, for farmers, labourers,
children, education, health, infrastructure.
But after paying 1/3rd as tax, not many people are willing to
donate more for social good.
It is our right to decide how our tax money is being spent.
We could ensure that at least part of the income tax that we pay is spent
for the good. How ? By spending it ourselves.
The proposal is that we should have an option not to pay 10\% of the
income tax to the government, but instead, donate it to local NGOs that we trust.
Maybe we could also donate it to sponsor food-for-work schemes in a
particular village that we can monitor.
It will happen that some people will take disadvantage of this,
and pay neither the tax,nor the NGOs. That money will remain with them.
It is still better than letting it go to the corrupt system.
A lot of the educated middle class, will however spend it well.
And make a difference.
Power to the people !!
