VOTE NO ON CONCRETE PLANT

Honorable Mayor and Council Members for the City of Oceanside:
We, the undersigned, ask you to vote NO on the concrete mixing plant proposed by Robertsons concrete.
This is the wrong location and the wrong type of business for the area.
This concrete plant will add between 400 and 1200 diesel trucks per day in an already congested area.
Area businesses dont want another noisy, dusty, dirty plant within a few feet of their businesses.
Area residents, some living as close as 300 feet from the property, dont want or deserve to be exposed to concrete dust, diesel fumes, oversized heavy trucks, noise and lights 15 hours a day every day.
It is well known that diesel fumes are dangerous to childrens healthy development of their lungs- the hundreds of diesel trucks coming in and out of this concrete plant 15 hours a day will affect hundreds of children who go to a dance studio a few doors away and those that live near the concrete plant.
Concrete dust is also a known carcinogen endangering the lives of people who live and work in the area.
There are numerous endangered species and sensitive plants & habitat within feet of this project. The City spent MILLIONS OF DOLLARS of taxpayer money on the Loma Alta Watershed, drainage areas, the Meyers property habitat restoration projects and a filter plant at Buccaneer Beach.
Dont waste taxpayer money by putting in a heavy industrial concrete manufacturing business with the potential to contaminate and pollute the entire watershed all the way to the beach.
For the above reasons, WE URGE YOU TO VOTE 'NO' TO THE CONCRETE PLANT.
